Tanzanija, 2015.
In the company of my host, Father Tomislav Mesić, I stayed in the Ngoro Ngoro region of Tanzania in 2015 and with my medical engagement helped him take care of his “God’s flock” of approximately thirty thousand Masai.
During my stay in Tanzania, I learned about the advantages and disadvantages of living in this earthly paradise.
There I helped medics in rare and neglected rural dispensaries to conduct health care.
The Masai tribe of the Ngoro Ngoro region, despite everything, manages under primitive conditions to take care of their physical health, while maintaining their peace of mind in accordance with the surrounding nature.
In early October, three years after my stay in Africa, at the meeting of the World Health Organization – Global Health Services in Liverpool, England, I again felt similar vibrations of human harmony with nature and living conditions.
I used the opportunity using the knowledge gained at the university specialist study in Diplomacy, and as a participant from Croatia I represented the interests of our “health” diplomacy.
This time, through communication with international health experts, I replaced my role as a “folk doctor” with the role of consultant and organizer of medical education and health care in the countries of the so-called “third” world.
The power of sharing knowledge and helping people in need is an indisputable tool in contemplating health care in the third world in which “my” Masai live from the beginning of this story.
